Leer |   FILIPENSES 4.19 29 de junio de 2013 A veces, las personas consideran que un deseo es una necesidad. El corazón puede estar tan consumido por un deseo, que satisfacerlo parece ser crucial. Los creyentes que se preguntan por qué no han recibido lo que deseaban, deben responder a esta pregunta:  ¿Es tal necesidad esencial para cumplir el propósito de Dios, o solo para mi disfrute personal?  Si no podemos realizar el plan de Dios sin algo, entonces es una necesidad, y Él responderá cuando le presentemos el asunto en oración (Fil 4.19). A Dios también le agrada satisfacer nuestros deseos que estén dentro de los límites de su propósito y su voluntad. Las cosas que anhelamos producen placer, diversión o una sensación de alegría. Muchas son buenas y dignas de tenerse, pero pueden convertirse en problemáticas cuando las consideramos esenciales para nuestros planes. Dios no está obligado a concedernos nuestros deseos o satisfacer nuestros planes, sino los suyos. Sin embargo, Él dice que

Si es así, usted se ha insensibilizado con el paso del tiempo. Dios usa nuestra “brújula moral” interna, junto con la guía del Espíritu Santo, para dirigir nuestras decisiones. La conciencia sirve como un “sistema de alarma” que protege al cristiano cuando está a punto de caer en pecado. Sin embargo, la práctica constante del pecado puede hacer que perdamos la capacidad de percibirla. El perverso proceso comienza si decidimos desobedecer, y luego negarnos a encarar nuestra rebeldía. La conciencia nos alerta una y otra vez, pero al final se cerrará y se volverá inoperante si persistimos en ignorar la señal de alarma. Cuando eso sucede, ya no hay mas señales del corazón que nos señalen el camino de vuelta a Dios. Una manera de ver esto es imaginar que todas las señales de tránsito han sido eliminadas: es una receta para el desast

Tengo que dejar el Yo primero, para poder seguir haciendo su voluntad y no la mia propia, puedo seguir la vida pero teniendo a Dios sobre todas las cosas y lo demás es promesa para aquel que decide seguir sus pasos sin importar perder la vida por ello. Friend to Friend I recall as a young child time spent rocking on my grandma's front porch and listening to the ladies from the missions society gossip about the heathens whose church was across the street from theirs. It always puzzled me because the heathens seemed like such nice people and their church looked just like Grandma's. As far as I could tell, there was no difference. Both believed in Jesus, wore funny hats on Sundays, and sang the same hymns. And both had great potluck dinners. How did the church come up with the notion of the infamous potluck supper? The Supreme Court has announced that it will deliver its much-anticipated rulings on same-sex marriage today at 10 AM EDT.  We don't yet know what the court will decide, but here are the options . The court could uphold Proposition 8 , California's voter-approved ban on same-sex marriage.  Or it could overturn it through one of four decisions.  One: those supporting the ban in court lack legal "standing" to do so.  Two: voters are not entitled to withdraw this right, since it had previously been established by the California Supreme Court.  These two decisions would affect only California. Three: states which provide for civil unions, such as California, violate the Constitution by withholding the designation of "marriage" (this is the Obama administration's position).  Six other states would be affected.  Four: all bans on same-sex marriage violate the Constitution.  In this case, every state would be affected. Dios creó a la humanidad para que le amara, pero desde la tentación en el huerto del Edén, la gente entregó su corazón a deseos inferiores. El amor al dinero no solo le roba a Dios su debido lugar; también roba el contentamiento, lleva a diversas tentaciones, y puede hacer que nos apartemos de nuestro Creador. Catholic Cardinal Timothy Dolan recently visited a Muslim mosque in New York City.  There he met with Muslims and other faith leaders.  He told them, "I thank God that this day has arrived.  I thank you for your welcome, I thank you for making me feel like a friend and a member of a family." Then he made this statement : "You love God, we love God and he is the same God." Muslims would certainly agree.  They believe that the one true God revealed himself in the Old Testament, but the Jewish people corrupted his revelation.  He revealed himself again in the New Testament, but the Christians corrupted that revelation.  So he revealed himself a third time in the Qur'an.  They hold Jesus ("Isa" in Arabic) to be one of their six most important prophets.  But they reject as heresy all claims that he is divine. Leer | LUCAS 12.13-21 25 de junio de 2013 La creencia de que tener dinero equivale a tener éxito, es un error generalizado. Éxito verdadero significa llegar a ser lo que Dios quiere que uno sea, y hacer el trabajo que Él nos ha encomendado. Jesús dijo que el hombre de Lucas 12 fue un necio, porque pasó su vida procurando tener riquezas, pero no fue rico para con el Señor. La actitud de idolatría por el dinero se revela por el deseo insaciable de tener más. Así pues, siempre que la preocupación por el dinero ocupa el primer lugar en nuestros pensamientos y comienza a dictar nuestras metas y nuestros deseos, podemos saber que hemos sucumbido al pecado de la avaricia. Angustiarse por el dinero es, en realidad, una señal de advertencia de que no solo hemos puesto mal nuestras prioridades, sino también una falta de confianza en Dios. Pero entonces, ¿por qué, a veces, nos sentimos solos, incluso cuando no atravesemos ninguna crisis? La mayor soledad que puede experimentar una persona se debe a su separación del Padre celestial. Our circumstances are not unique to us; others have faced similar situations. Yesterday, we learned an acrostic to help us resist enticement: we can put a “halt” to letting ourselves be too hungry, angry, lonely, or tired. That is, we are wise to eat regularly, experience the peace God offers, stay in fellowship with others, and get enough rest. But where does the urge to sin come from?
