” I heard the Muslim leader say...

During more than 45 years of serving God, I have seen the Enemy launch many attacks. More than 20 years ago, I saw God do something mighty to overcome the attacks of Satan against His work. I am sharing this with you today because we are facing a new attack—and it is serious. We need to see God work in a great and powerful way right now. Let me share this story with you to encourage and strengthen your faith:

Mike Evans praying
Mike Evans

In 1994, during the massive genocide in Rwanda, God directed me to go to the neighboring nation of Congo to hold a mass evangelistic event. When I arrived, I learned that thousands of Believers were praying. En route to join their meeting and thank them, I made my way through a crowd who opposed what we were trying to do. As I walked through the darkness, I heard a Muslim leader say, "You will have five days to kill Mike Evans. Get big stones. We will stone him or shoot him, but do not eat any food until he is dead."

As I stood on the platform to preach, I saw witch doctors with large dolls sporting huge hands and feet. One was sticking pins in an effigy when I suddenly realized it was supposed to be me. I quietly moved away from the crowd, hoping no one would realize that I was there. The demons of hell were raging, but God was greater. One night as the witch doctors were sticking pins into the dolls, I stopped in the middle of my sermon and commanded them to stick the needles deeper and call on their false gods. I vowed to call on the one true God. As the test continued, the power of God fell on them, and the witch doctors hit the dirt screaming. They slithered like snakes as demon spirits were leaving them.

Miracles happened spontaneously throughout the crusade. The blind were seeing; the deaf were hearing; the crippled were walking. There were so many miracles that the president of the country decided to turn the Voice of The Congo, the national television station, over to us for the daily evening news. That station broadcast across Rwanda as we proclaimed the Gospel nightly as well as delivering the news. We called it the "Good News" and invited people who had been healed and delivered by the power of God to give their testimony.

Ten thousand pastors, many of whom had walked for days, came to the Peoples' Palace in the capital for our five-day School of Evangelism. More than 650,000 came to the crusades at night. A tremendous number of people not only came to Christ, but were called into the ministry. They are now preaching the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ all over central Africa.

The Bible says, "Arise and shine for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. Darkness shall cover the deep and gross darkness the people, but the Lord shall arise upon thee" (Isaiah 60:1). Today I'm asking you to rise up and shine a light for the nation of Israel. It is time for those of us who love Israel and God's Chosen People to stand up in their defense.

Pablo reprende a Pedro

If you are unable to see the message below, click here to view .
