Para heredar las promesas divinas

El Señor no habría hecho todas las promesas que hay en la Biblia si no hubiera querido dar a sus hijos grandes bendiciones. Sin embargo, no podemos ser presuntuosos y dar por hecho que tales beneficios nos pertenecen de manera automática. Entonces, ¿cómo podemos apropiarnos de las promesas de Dios con la expectativa de que Él responderá nuestras peticiones?
Hay ciertas preguntas que debemos hacernos para evaluar las necesidades que traemos a nuestro Padre celestial:
• ¿Esta promesa atiende mi necesidad o deseo personal?
• ¿Estoy pidiendo con un espíritu de sumisión a su voluntad?
• ¿Puede Dios cumplir esta petición sin perjudicar a otra persona?
• ¿Le agrada mi petición a Dios?
• ¿Será Dios honrado con el cumplimiento de mi petición?
• ¿Mi petición contradice de alguna manera a la Palabra de Dios?
• Si Dios cumple esta promesa, ¿ayudará ello a mi crecimiento espiritual?
Una vez que hayamos respondido estas preguntas, heredar las promesas divinas dependerá de tres requisitos: Primero, necesitamos tener fe. Nuestro Padre quiere que confiemos en Él, y el Señor premia a quienes lo hacen (Gn 15.6; He 11.6). Segundo, debemos ser obedientes a todo lo que sabemos que es su voluntad para nosotros —nunca recibiremos lo mejor que Él da si lo desobedecemos deliberadamente. Tercero, debemos tener paciencia para esperar el tiempo perfecto del Señor.
Hacer estas cosas bien vale la pena, considerando las bendiciones que Él anhela darnos.
