Los creyentes pueden llegar a tropezar en la senda de la fe. Según el apóstol Pablo, nuestra responsabilidad es ayudar a los hermanos caídos a levantarse. He aquí seis áreas en las que usted puede ayudar:
1. Trate de ayudar al creyente a ver y reconocer su falta como un pecado.
2. ¿Acepta la responsabilidad por su pecado? Es fácil culpar a otros por nuestras faltas, pero cada persona es responsable de su propia conducta.
3. Anime a los creyentes a confesar su pecado y arrepentirse. El arrepentimiento verdadero se traduce en un cambio de conducta.
4. Puede ser necesario hacer restitución. Por ejemplo, si algo fue robado, debe ser devuelto o pagado, o si alguien resultó dañado emocional o espiritualmente, hay que buscar el perdón. Las circunstancias pueden justificar la asesoría de un pastor.
5. Ayude al cristiano a determinar qué lección puede estar Dios tratando de enseñarle. A menudo pasamos por alto el hecho de que el Señor quiere comunicarse con nosotros en nuestros tiempos de dificultad.
6. Aconseje al creyente que responda a la disciplina de Dios con gratitud. Esto es difícil para cualquier persona, pero por medio del castigo podemos aprender más acerca de nuestro Padre celestial.
Nuestra responsabilidad como hermanos en Cristo, no es condenar sino restaurar con gentileza. Debemos ser sensibles a las heridas y necesidades de nuestros hermanos en la fe. Y luego, si nosotros tropezamos también, podemos esperar un trato semejante en el mismo espíritu de amor.
