La manera de Dios es la mejor

Una canción de finales de la década de 1960, habla de alguien que da una mirada retrospectiva a su vida, proclamando con orgullo que hizo las cosas a su manera. Cinco veces diferentes, esta persona anónima expresa sentirse satisfecha de sí misma, por no dar cuenta a nadie de su estilo de vida o sus decisiones.
El tema de la canción es exactamente lo contrario en cuanto a la manera como Dios ha llamado a vivir a los creyentes. Como seguidores de Cristo, debemos someternos al Señor, y vivir a la manera de Él.
¿Cómo podemos vivir de acuerdo a la manera de Dios?
Dándole nuestra atención. Debemos dejar de lado nuestros planes y enfocarnos, más bien, en nuestra relación con Dios y en las cosas que le agradan a Él.
Obedeciendo sus instrucciones. Debemos obedecer los pasos que Él ya nos ha indicado (Pr 3.5, 6). Esto requiere que escuchemos con atención su Palabra, y que obedezcamos sus instrucciones.
Aceptando la provisión de Dios como acertada. El Señor asume toda la responsabilidad por la vida consagrada a Él, y nos dará todo lo que necesitemos para obedecer sus instrucciones. Debemos basar todas nuestras acciones y decisiones en esta verdad (Fil 4.13), aun cuando nuestros sentimientos nos digan que nuestros recursos o capacidades no son suficientes.
¿Qué revelan las decisiones que usted toma? ¿Ha elegido seguir el plan de Dios o desobedecerlo para ser independiente? Piense en si le ha establecido límites a Dios en cuanto a ciertos aspectos de su vida. No es demasiado tarde para vivir a la manera de Dios.

Reflection on Genesis 44:33 Sometimes we get a second chance. When we do, it’s important to seize the opportunity. That’s what Judah did. When his brothers wanted to kill Joseph, Judah didn’t rescue Joseph but instead suggested that they sell him as a slave (see Genesis 37:26–27 ). His second chance came when Benjamin’s life appeared to be in danger. This time Judah put his own life on the line to protect his half brother, Rachel’s other son. Perhaps this commitment was taken into account in the blessings that God inspired Jacob to give his sons; eventually the Messiah came through Judah’s descendants (see Genesis 49:10 ). God often gives us second chances in life. When he does, we need to take advantage of the opportunity and set things right.
