Un Dios en quien podemos confiar

Basándonos en el carácter de Dios, ¿de qué podemos estar seguros?
1. Dios nos impartirá su misericordia. Al enviar a su Hijo a morir en nuestro lugar, el Padre celestial demuestra su amor por nosotros (Sal 100.5; 1 Jn 4.10).
2. El Señor nos ayudará a hacer lo que Él requiera de nosotros. Nos dará no solo la sabiduría espiritual para que podamos realizar las tareas que nos ha asignado, sino también el poder para llevarlas a cabo (He 13.21).
3. Dios pondrá un límite a las tentaciones y a las presiones que permite en nuestra vida. Como artesano de nuestras vidas, Él sabe cómo moldearnos a la imagen del Señor Jesús (2 Co 4.8).
4. Dios nos fortalecerá y protegerá para que no tengamos que claudicar o rendirnos. Aunque somos débiles, Él sabe cuán fuertes podemos ser cuando su poder está en nosotros (1 Co 10.13).
5. Nuestro Padre celestial perdonará nuestros pecados. Él está listo para recibir nuestra confesión, perdonarnos y limpiarnos de toda maldad cada vez que acudamos a Él (1 Jn 1.9).
Además de estas bendiciones durante el tiempo que vivamos en este mundo, tenemos también bendiciones futuras de las que podemos estar seguros. Podemos tener la confianza de que la vida no termina cuando nuestro cuerpo terrenal muere (2 Co 5.8); que viviremos en el cielo para siempre; y que Jesucristo volverá un día.
La vida tiene, sin duda, experiencias dolorosas (Jn 16.33). Pero cuando los problemas nos opriman, pensemos en todas las razones por las que podemos depender de Dios.

Reflection on Genesis 44:33 Sometimes we get a second chance. When we do, it’s important to seize the opportunity. That’s what Judah did. When his brothers wanted to kill Joseph, Judah didn’t rescue Joseph but instead suggested that they sell him as a slave (see Genesis 37:26–27 ). His second chance came when Benjamin’s life appeared to be in danger. This time Judah put his own life on the line to protect his half brother, Rachel’s other son. Perhaps this commitment was taken into account in the blessings that God inspired Jacob to give his sons; eventually the Messiah came through Judah’s descendants (see Genesis 49:10 ). God often gives us second chances in life. When he does, we need to take advantage of the opportunity and set things right.
