El trabajo del creyente

La definición de éxito según el mundo difiere mucho de la de Dios. Tomemos el papel de un pastor, por ejemplo. Sería fácil aceptar elogios en cuanto al crecimiento de la iglesia, ya que muchas personas equiparan la asistencia alta con la efectividad del ministro. Pero el Señor desea que lo obedezcamos con humildad. Ya sea que atraigamos a una multitud o no, el éxito se mide por la obediencia.
Esto es diferente para cada creyente. Algunos cristianos tienen tareas muy visibles, y por eso sus esfuerzos son públicos y evidentes. Otros sirven a Cristo de manera callada, menos perceptibles.
Dios da dones a sus seguidores, adaptados a la tarea dispuesta para cada uno de ellos. El Espíritu Santo nos revela nuestro llamado, y debemos dar nuestro mejor esfuerzo. Por supuesto, no importa cuál pueda ser la tarea, el resultado no tendrá ningún valor a menos que el Padre le infunda vida. Dios asigna la responsabilidad, da las capacidades y produce el crecimiento. Es el Señor quien merece toda la gloria. Nosotros simplemente somos bendecidos por ser parte de su plan.
Debemos estar agradecidos por cualquier cosa que Dios lleve a cabo por medio nuestro. Al darle a Él todo el crédito, no tendremos nunca que sentirnos derrotados. Más bien, tenemos la confianza de que Él logrará su buen propósito.
La honra estará fuera de lugar, a menos que vaya directamente a Aquel que crea, santifica y sostiene. Dios le creó a usted para realizar tareas específicas que promuevan su reino. Él le dejará ver su poderosa mano en acción. Preste atención a su dirección, y alábelo por todo lo que Él hace.

Reflection on Genesis 44:33 Sometimes we get a second chance. When we do, it’s important to seize the opportunity. That’s what Judah did. When his brothers wanted to kill Joseph, Judah didn’t rescue Joseph but instead suggested that they sell him as a slave (see Genesis 37:26–27 ). His second chance came when Benjamin’s life appeared to be in danger. This time Judah put his own life on the line to protect his half brother, Rachel’s other son. Perhaps this commitment was taken into account in the blessings that God inspired Jacob to give his sons; eventually the Messiah came through Judah’s descendants (see Genesis 49:10 ). God often gives us second chances in life. When he does, we need to take advantage of the opportunity and set things right.
