Con mucha frecuencia llegamos al final de un día y decimos: ¿En qué se me fue el tiempo? ¿Qué logré hacer en este día?
Para nosotros es natural sentirnos frustrados cuando las interrupciones y distracciones nos impiden cumplir con nuestras responsabilidades. Por eso estoy muy agradecido por lo que la Biblia nos dice acerca de tener una vida productiva y satisfactoria.
El secreto es muy sencillo: iniciar cada mañana con oración. Principiar haciendo a un lado nuestro programa para ese día para entregarnos a consultar la Palabra de Dios. Proseguir a entrar en comunión íntima con Dios antes de abordar las tareas que confrontemos.
Después, oremos más o menos como sigue: “Señor, te invito a que en este día me indiques qué debo hacer. Dirige mis pasos y ayúdame a tomar las decisiones correctas. Hazme sensible a tu voluntad, especialmente si deseas cambiar mis planes”.
Dios es fiel. Él nos guiará paso a paso y nos capacitará para ejecutar las metas que tiene para nosotros. Nuestro trabajo consiste simplemente en obedecerle.

Reflection on Genesis 44:33 Sometimes we get a second chance. When we do, it’s important to seize the opportunity. That’s what Judah did. When his brothers wanted to kill Joseph, Judah didn’t rescue Joseph but instead suggested that they sell him as a slave (see Genesis 37:26–27 ). His second chance came when Benjamin’s life appeared to be in danger. This time Judah put his own life on the line to protect his half brother, Rachel’s other son. Perhaps this commitment was taken into account in the blessings that God inspired Jacob to give his sons; eventually the Messiah came through Judah’s descendants (see Genesis 49:10 ). God often gives us second chances in life. When he does, we need to take advantage of the opportunity and set things right.
