Cómo orar por un presidente

Como cristianos, tenemos la responsabilidad de orar por quienes tienen puestos de autoridad: padres, pastores y líderes. Cuando usted hable con Dios acerca del presidente de la nación, pídale que éste…
  1. Reconozca que ha sido colocado en ese cargo o por decisión de Dios, o con el permiso de su voluntad.
  2. Reconozca sus limitaciones para la tarea y, por tanto, busque a Dios para recibir la sabiduría y la valentía que requiere.
  3. Restaure la dignidad, la confianza y la rectitud del oficio de la presidencia.
  4. Anteponga el beneficio de la nación a su carrera política y sus ambiciones personales.
  5. Revoque las ideologías destructivas que buscan destronar a Dios.
  6. Respete, honre y obedezca la Constitución, que es protectora de nuestras libertades.
  7. Rechace toda asesoría o acuerdo que debilite nuestra defensa y seguridad internacional ante cualquier agresor.
  8. Se niegue a promover un estilo de vida, en el cual los ciudadanos dependan del gobierno para suplir sus necesidades.
  9. Recuerde que rendirá cuentas a Dios todopoderoso por su actitud, conducta, motivaciones y decisiones.
  10. Ayude a que las personas en este país puedan prosperar, sentirse seguras y el Dios todopoderoso sea reconocido como la Fuente de todas las bendiciones.
Dirigir una nación es un trabajo muy importante y exigente. El presidente y demás oficiales elegidos necesitan nuestras oraciones. Pero, para que sean efectivas, nuestras peticiones deben ser más específicas que decir: “Señor, bendice al presidente”, o “Dios, ayuda a nuestros líderes a hacer un buen trabajo”.

Reflection on Genesis 44:33 Sometimes we get a second chance. When we do, it’s important to seize the opportunity. That’s what Judah did. When his brothers wanted to kill Joseph, Judah didn’t rescue Joseph but instead suggested that they sell him as a slave (see Genesis 37:26–27 ). His second chance came when Benjamin’s life appeared to be in danger. This time Judah put his own life on the line to protect his half brother, Rachel’s other son. Perhaps this commitment was taken into account in the blessings that God inspired Jacob to give his sons; eventually the Messiah came through Judah’s descendants (see Genesis 49:10 ). God often gives us second chances in life. When he does, we need to take advantage of the opportunity and set things right.
